DMCA and copyright
How to report a copyright concern and what happens next.
We respect the rights of creators. TextMatchCuts.com does not allow visitors to upload or publish content on the Site: the tool runs in your browser and nothing you make is stored on our servers. Even so, if you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, you can ask us to look into it.
How to send a notice
Email contact@textmatchcuts.com with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include:
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
- the exact URL or location on the Site of the material you want reviewed;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
Please note: knowingly sending a false claim can have legal consequences, including liability for damages. If you are unsure whether something infringes, consider speaking to a lawyer first.
What we do next
When we receive a complete notice we will review it promptly. If the claim is valid we will remove or disable the material and may tell the person responsible. We may keep a record of notices received.
Counter-notice
If you think material was removed by mistake, email us a counter-notice with your contact details, a description of the material and where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your signature. We may restore the material unless the complainant tells us they have started legal action.
Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances we will stop providing the Site to anyone found to be a repeat infringer.
